We are pleased to announce that the 2nd edition of the Humpback Whale World Congress will be held in Reunion Island, Indian Ocean, from July 3rd to 7th, 2017.

The main theme of this 2nd edition is « Humpback whales: new and interdisciplinary approaches to understand and promote the conservation of migratory species« , which will allow attendees to receive insights into diverse research fields, methods, and applications. Please see the IMPORTANT DATES shown below and be sure to submit your abstract before the deadline.*

Priority will be given to abstracts showing an original work of high scientific quality, which touch on diverse issues regarding the knowledge and conservation of the humpback whale. Abstracts must be in English as that will be the official language of the symposium, and should not exceed 350 words.

Submitted abstracts must contain the following information :

Title, name of author(s), affiliations, postal and email addresses.
Abstracts must be in Times New Roman, 12-point font; single spaced with justified alignment and should be submitted only in plain text.
Abstracts must be in English, the official language of the congress, and should not exceed 350 words
Abstracts should be providing a brief statement of the problem, the methodology, the result and the conclusion.


    January 2nd, 2017: Opening for early registration

    March 17th, 2017: Deadline for abstract submission

    April 16th, 2017: Decisions for abstract submission

    May 1st, 2017: Online release of the program and call for paper for special issue

    June 25th, 2017: Deadline of early registration

    July 3rd to July 7th, 2017: Congress in Reunion Island, Indian Ocean
